The amazing Lora Leigh has done it again. She knocked it straight out of the ball park with Rule Breaker.
Rule Breaker is a wonderful book. It's a passionate story, one that was taut with sexual chemistry and some scorching love scenes. It's Lora Leigh, so this goes without saying. The characters were especially compelling, their back stories tugging at my heart, while sweeping me into their romance. Rule is a sexy alpha male who screws up time and again. He has sworn never to take a mate. So he messes things up by hurting Gypsy. Ugh! I got so mad at him. But of course, Leigh made it all come right, as his reasons were revealed so that the reader understood. This was some heart breaking stuff. Gypsy was a strong willed heroine. Yet she had a vulnerable side. Her life shattered at a young age, she has lived a lonely life. She takes on a guilt that isn't hers to bear, yet she tries to make it right. She too has made some promises to herself, and let honor lead her into sacrifice. Leigh has given readers an intense story of two destined mates who are determined to run the other way.
As usual, Leigh has created very raw and sensual love scenes for these characters. The sexual chemistry between them was electrifying. Rule was a sexy bad ass hero. He goes down fighting, his cunning and stealthy lion finding the way in the end. Now, Gypsy was slow to give herself to Rule. But once she gave in, their love scenes were passionate and intense.
Leigh did such a great job on this book. The story telling was strong. The plot flowed easily, and at a fast pace. The plot was powerful, with many twists and plenty of suspense. Everyone has secrets and many of them are revealed this time around. Breed fans are going to be wild for this book, since Leigh reveals many secrets about some of the most speculated and squeed about characters in the series. The drama was thick with family secrets, manipulations at every turn. So many strings were pulled it made my head spin as I tried to keep up with the complex plot. This is a book that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat.
I loved this book. I wouldn't change a thing about it. The plot was solid, with a climactic outcome. The characters were rich and well defined. The romance was passionate, with emotions that were achingly real. It broke my heart and reduced me to tears, as Rule and Gypsy had to face the past before they could claim their future. It was hard to read at times, yet I loved every minute.
No one spins a story quite like Lora Leigh. She did a stellar job on this book. It is one of my favorites in the series, second only to Lion's Heat. I'd call it a must read book for fans of the series. And I am recommending it to everyone as a fantastic read.
There’s a fine line between animal instinct and human desire?and in her ?highly erotic saga” (Fresh Fiction), #1 New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh crosses it.
Now, in her new novel of the Breeds, the mating heat continues?
Lion Breed and enforcer Rule Breaker has just a few rules he doesn’t break. Not for anything. Not for anyone?like never have sex with a woman outside his own breed, especially a human woman. Especially someone too helpless, too fun loving and too full of life to ever be able to protect herself, let alone help him to protect her.
If the damned animal inside him insists on a mate, then why pick her? A woman who is an easy target and who can be used as a weapon against him at any time.
But what he suspects is mating heat may not be that at all. Just his animal instincts rioting, pacing, irritated whenever he's away from her.
Okay, he can handle that.
What ensues is a fiery affair that breaks all the rules of mating heat and will eventually endanger his mate with the very rules designed to protect the Breeds?for she’s possibly been working against them
