I enjoyed this heartwarming western romance from Kari Lynn Dell. "Reckless in Texas" is a series starter. It's actually the first book that I've read by this author, but certainly won't be the last because I really loved it.
The story centers on Joe and Violet, but also introduced a rich cast of secondary characters for future books. Joe and Violet fit together perfectly. Violet is a unique heroine as a single mom whose life is very much rooted in a male dominated world. She was strong, independent and had a fiery side as well. Joe was a special hero himself. He wasn't the typical rodeo bad boy. Joe was a pure sweetheart and I fell in love with him from the beginning. From the outset I was firmly in Joe's corner each time he went a round with anyone. He and Violet kept trying to guard their hearts from getting broken and ending up hurting each other in the process. They had a lot of ups and downs and complications to overcome so my emotions received quite the workout with this book.
"Reckless in Texas" was a pleasure to read. The plot was strong and steadily built the series along with my interest in reading more about the other characters. I loved the romance for Joe and Violet and little Beni was simply adorable. I'll be happy to see more of him in Delon's book which looks to be next in the series.
I was very happy with this book and look forward to the next Texas Rodeo novel.
Violet Jacobs is fearless. At least, that's what the cowboys she snatches from under the hooves of bucking horses think. Outside the ring, she's got plenty of worries rattling her bones: her young son, her mess of a love life, and lately, her family's struggling rodeo. When she takes business into her own hands and hires on a hotshot bullfighter, she expects to start a ruckus. She never expected Joe Cassidy. Rough and tumble, cocky and charming, Joe's everything a superstar should be-and it doesn't take a genius to figure out he's way out of Violet's league.
Joe came to Texas to escape a life spiraling out of control. He never planned on sticking around, and he certainly never expected to call this dry and dusty backwater home. But Violet is everything he never knew he was missing, and the deeper he's pulled into her beautiful mess of a family, the more he realizes this fierce rodeo girl may be offering him the one thing he never could find on his own.
