“Reaper's Fire” is another great installment to an already outstanding series.
I really loved the suspense that unfolded in this one and of course I loved Gage and Tinker. Most of what happens in “Reaper's Fire” actually coincided with the previous book, “Reaper's Fall”, when Gage and Painter infiltrated another club. Painter got sent back to prison while Gage stayed behind to suss out the traitors to his club. He wanted Tinker right from the start but she wasn't his priority and he had a job to do for the club. He was forced to deceive her and just hope she could forgive him after it was over.
"Reapers forever, forever Reapers.
Sometimes loyalty sucks."
For the most part I absolutely loved Tinker. She was drawn to Gage but she still put up one hell of a fight. She had some pretty heavy family drama of her own but she was trying to move on with her life. I loved the scene where she finally told off the town biddy, tho it would've kicked arse if she'd just gotten in one good kick to that viper Talia. Mostly because as I already knew how she came back to bring blood in “Reaper's Fall”.
To be sure, what I'm trying to say is that this is a well-crafted and inclusive series that draws the reader into the lives of these characters. It is gritty and when bad things happen we grieve. Whenever our favorite characters hurt .... we hurt. If they're happy then we are happy too. I can't say it any better than we love the strong characters that populate this bad ass MC world that Joanna Wylde has created just for us. I could read a new book every week if only she could write that fast.
So it was as I had suspected. I loved Reaper's Fire. I loved Gage and Tinker. Their story was sexy and suspenseful and it had a few funny moments too. You can't help but enjoy the Reapers sarcasm.
"You've been watching “Sons of Anarchy”, haven't you?" Pic asked, sighing heavily. Cody swallowed, then nodded. "Fucking show. Whole damned world thinks they're Jax Teller. Pat him down and bring him inside."
I can't be sure, but for me, this series just may be better than any TV show. I could never get enough so I am already eager for another “Reapers MC” book.
New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde returns to the “wild and raw”* world of the Reapers MC with the story of Gage and Tinker…
The club comes first.
I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes . . . She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.
Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul . . . Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.
I’m coming for you, Tinker.
