Ice Surrender is the 8th, and final, book in the Werewolf Sentinels series. I have enjoyed this series immensely, always looking forward to each new book. The book features Ryder and Wren. I gotta say that Marisa Chenery did a spectacular job on this final book. She closed the series out with a lot of excitement and a very gratifying ending.
Ryder is a descendent of the shaman who turned the wolf brothers long ago. Guided by his ancestor, Ryder is now their shaman. He is struggling to gain full control of his powers, knowing he will need them in the coming battle against the Dark Wolves. In the story he gets some much needed help from Wren.
Wren has wanted to claim Ryder since she first saw him. She knows what she wants and has gone after it, knowing they are meant to be together. Ryder has kept his distance but it is becoming harder to resist her advances. Got to say it.... Wren was one persistent wolf. Though, here we find out the reason why Ryder couldn't give in until the time was right.
I loved how the author has ended the series with a gratifying resolution for everyone. I liked the spiritual bond that developed between Ryder and Wren. Of course, I enjoyed the steamy love scenes, the dream lover part was absolutely perfect. The showdown between the Sentinels and the Dark Wolves was exciting and very climactic. It was brilliantly resolved, leaving the reader with a good feeling about everybody.
In Marisa Chenery's world of romance, whenever one door closes, another one opens. At least that's what I'm hoping. It seems that something was up with Taylor, the cougar shifter. His character has been shrouded in mystery and now he has left on an important mission. I sounds intriguing to this reader.
This book was a great read. I was exciting, strewn with suspense and sexual tension. I was a little sad that its ending, though I am already eager to see what the author has in store for the readers next. This is a fun paranormal read that I am sure the readers will love.
Ryder finds the process of coming into his full shaman powers harder than he expected. And it doesn’t help that he’s being relentlessly pursued by a female werewolf who doesn’t step down from a challenge. Unable to bed her for reasons of his own, he struggles to keep his yearning hidden from everyone—especially her.
Wren has set her sights on Ryder, and that is that. He may have turned her down time and time again, but she knows he’s the one meant for her. If it takes a little persuasion on her part, all the better. And sexier. She won’t give up until she gets the ultimate prize—the sentinels’ shaman as her mate.
