His Billion Dollar Baby

I loved this book! The story had everything. Lots of passion, romance and angst. It captivated me from the beginning to end.

The story begins with Gwen showing up at the funeral of her one night fling only to inadvertently reveal that she is carrying his only child. His brother isn't buying her story though. He thinks Gwen is a con artist out to scam his wealthy family. Then events happen that throw Gwen and Carter together so the billionaire playboy decides to do whatever it takes to win the game. Seduction is the plan only it's Carter who ends up getting caught. There were many complications that livened up the story. Lots of emotional baggage for both of them.

Now for my thoughts. Let’s start with the characters. They were great and I easily connected with them and got caught up in their story. The author definitely got a lot of dramatic mileage out of Carter. He was so bitter and he took it out on Gwen time and time again. The guy was a first class jerk, but I love reading about his kind. His unending suspicions inevitably lead to a shattered heart for Gwen. OMG! I cannot count how many times I wanted to smack him for hurting her. Now, Gwen was just the kind of heroine I like to read about as well. She was honest, and strong. This gal didn't let her man run over her. When he crossed the line she put him right back in place. She didn't forgive easily either. She made him grovel for it the way a woman should.

I felt this book was well written in every way. I liked the author's writing style, the great plot and the interesting characters themselves.

I liked everything about this one!
