Full Throttle

Fast Track, #7

I could describe this book with two words. Full Throttle! But why stop there? I enjoyed this book so much and have lots and lots of praise to give to Erin McCarthy for writing this one.

Right from the humorous start that had Shawn and Rhett meeting at the fetish club, this book had me hooked. Rhett is an intense man who knows what he wants. He wants Eve, so he makes his move right away. He likes to take charge in the bedroom and he lets her know it. Eve is a bit skeptical about that kind of relationship. I got that she was used to being in the driver's seat, and realized that this young stud could easily make her lose all control. There was also the age issue. Rhett is much younger than Eve, and she doesn't want to be seen as a cougar. In fact, this does come into play a few times as the story goes on. The funny thing is that they don't know each other at first. Though they have a very close connection. Shawn is Eve Monroe's best friend and Rhett is Nolan Ford's little brother (Jacked Up book # 6 in the series). Despite their fascination with each other, that first meeting comes to a screeching halt when Shawn's friends whisk her away after recognizing Rhett. They can't stop thinking about each other though it's not likely that they'll ever meet again. That was another funny scene where Erin thinks Rhett gave her a fake name and gave one of her own. So without even a phone number, Rhett has no way of tracking his Scarlett down. But fate and Rhett have their ways. Imagine Shawn's surprise when Rhett shows up in her office a few weeks later.

Shawn runs and is dedicated to the family race track after her grandfather passed away. She is shocked to learn that her grandfather put a stipulation in his will that says she has to get married to inherit the racetrack. That's not good. She is a thirty year old single woman with no prospects. She been off the dating since she got burnt by her last cheating boyfriend. And the only guy that gets her motor running is a guy that she doesn't expect to ever see again. Until he comes walking into her office just when she needed him most.

The plot has Shawn and Rhett engaging in a fake marriage rather quickly. That's when you'll think that things are going to get messed up. But it's not like that with these two lovers. They were completely honest with each other about everything. That was the part that I liked most. It made less melodrama and left room for the romance. It made their relationship seem real and had me cheering for them. Their chemistry sizzled with love scene so intense they were smoking hot. Another great thing was that we saw more of Eve as she and Shawn became sister in law. Like sisters growing up and now they are sisters for real. It was great. Put those two together and we got plenty of laughs all around in this one.

This book was so entertaining. The story, characters, humor and passion had me captivated from start to finish. I loved it! I sure do hope that Erin McCarthy will be giving readers more exciting stories in the Fast Track series very soon. Harley and Charity? So I would recommend this book to everyone. It will push all your buttons with a great romantic story, compelling characters, and a few laughs to go with the sizzling passion.

So whatcha waiting for? Grab your own copy and let this book sweep you away. Happy Reading!
