Feral Heat

Shifters Unbound Novella

Feral Heat is another fantastic addition to the Shifters Unbound series from Jennifer Ashley. I enjoyed it from beginning to end with never a dull moment in between.

This is a short novella that gives us the story of Jace Warden and Deni Rowe. I was familiar with both of these characters from previous books. I had been intrigued by Jace already, while I wasn't sure about Deni. Yet as soon as I opened the book and started reading I knew they were meant to be and that their story would be a good one. It was! Jace and Deni were perfect for each other, though they had a lot of things to overcome. Jace is a feline shifter while Deni is lupine. The story is set in the Austin shifter town where Jace is visiting as a volunteer in the shifters quest to be free of the collars. Nothing goes as planned though. Fate throws Jace and Deni together in violence and passion is the outcome. They bond and become fiercely protective of each other. Their differences and how they ended up needing each other was my favorite part of the book. We are shown how they supported and saved each other over and over again. It was all very romantic and since that's why I read romance novels then I was happy with this one. Jennifer Ashley never disappoints me in that respect. I was very pleased with the love scenes. Yeah, they got pretty steamy. *Grin* another thing that I enjoyed is that the book had plenty of suspense to keep things moving at a fast pace. Obviously I can't give anything away.... but a few things happened. Still, for the most part, this one was mostly about Jace and Deni and how they saved each other. Very sweet and I loved every minute of it.

So obviously I enjoyed this book and am already looking ahead to the next book in the Shifters Unbound series. I will be recommending Feral Heat to everyone.

Book Blurb for Feral Heat

From the author of Lone Wolf comes a paranormal romance about two lovers torn between ecstasy and savagery…

Jace Warden is sent to the Shiftertown in Austin to find a way to free all Shifters from their Collars. But pulling off the Collars can cause Shifters to go mad or kill them outright.

In Austin, Jace meets Deni Rowe, a wolf Shifter with troubles of her own—she was deliberately run down in the road, and while her body has healed, she still has episodes of total memory loss during which she retreats into her pure animal self.

Jace has never met anyone like Deni. Courageous and beautiful, she volunteers to help him test the Collar removal. And as Deni and Jace work together, they feel the mate bond begin. But can Jace help Deni believe she can heal enough to be anyone’s true mate?

This sixteen chapter novella includes a preview of the upcoming Shifters Unbound novel Wild Wolf.
