Champagne and Chaps

Rough and Ready

This was the second book that I have read by Ms. McCray. I read "Lace & Lassos" (part of the Rough & Rowdy series) a few months ago. I really liked the author’s style so I took a chance on this one. It was a good call. I really enjoyed this book every bit as much. Champagne & Chaps tells the story of Sabrina & Wyatt. Sabrina is spending her summer with her friend Carly hoping to rebound from a recent battle with breast cancer. It is practically love at first sight when she meets cowboy/rancher Wyatt Cameron. Sabrina inadvertently gets mixed up with drug dealers thereby allowing Wyatt to come to her rescue.

The most important thing that I liked the most about this book was the heroine. Sabrina never felt sorry for herself. Sure... she lost both of her breasts & that was sad. But the author stayed away from the tired old plot where the heroine is so devastated by her loss that she can't bear for anyone to see her scars… can’t look at them... surely no man can ever love "half of a woman ", etcetera. Kudos to Cheyenne McCrey for giving us a strong heroine who doesn't feel so sorry for herself that she's afraid to live the life she has been granted. This was a short sweet read for me. I enjoyed it a lot and I highly recommend it.

Book Blurb for Champagne and Chaps

Sabrina Holliday is ready for a vacation from it all and ends up spending the summer with her closest friend in a small southern Arizona ranching community. After fighting breast cancer and dealing with other life trials, she needs a break in the worst way.

Wyatt Cameron hasn’t met anyone as beautiful as Sabrina and from the moment she walks into his life, the cowboy is determined to make sure she belongs to him. He has to work past her barriers, but nothing is going to keep him from winning her heart.

Sabrina figured she was not in the right place in her life to fall for a man, but men who look as good as Wyatt, with a heart to match, just don’t come along. From the first moment she meets him, she knows this cowboy is different than any other man she’s met.

The quiet vacation is interrupted when a stranger helps Sabrina fix her car. She never expects to get caught up in the middle of a drug war, a war that could cost her life. Wyatt races to save Sabrina…before it’s too late.
