This is my first book by Lia Davis. I am very impressed with her writing style. She gave such vivid details of the surroundings, the sights, the smells and the overall feelings, that she had me right there with her.
The main characters are Connie and Anthony. I fell in love with Connie. I enjoyed all of the snark and sass she gave to Anthony. They were both bullheaded and use to getting their own way. Their saving grace though was that they were both soft hearted. Their characters were unique and tastefully done but they were hot, very hot.
Lia did an amazing job with her characters and that's true of her secondary ones as well. Both Trey and Ryan, as Anthony's brothers, are adept and sensing trouble and just showing up to help out and looking for a good fight. And something was coming for Connie known only by the name of “The Hunter.”
His true identity doesn’t come forth until towards the end. At the conclusion of the battle Ryan was alive, but I don't see it as a battle that was won and celebrated.
There is so much more to the story. I can't wait for the next book. I don't think I like short stories very much as they always seem to leave me wanting so much more as does “Bear Magick.”
I was so impressed with Lia Davis's writing style and ability to tell a story that she has become one of the authors that I will continue to follow.
I am so pleased with “Bear Magick” and I'm positive that you will be too. Pick up a copy and you won't be disappointed.
Independent, curvy, and beautiful Connie Glover doesn’t need a man in her life to make her happy. Or to save her. Or so she tells herself…
While out pursuing her passion for wildlife photography, she’s confronted by a hunter with his sights set on dominating her. Determined to teach the human a lesson, she’s a little annoyed when a sexy bear shifter shows up and chases the hunter away.
Anthony Black is the Marshal of Blackrock. His number one priority is protecting his den—and his mate. But keeping Connie safe is a challenge in itself. Not only is he unsure if she’ll accept him, but the stubborn and sexy witch loves her independence. Almost as much as she loves teasing him—something that makes him mad with desire.
With new threats to the Pack rearing their ugly head, Anthony must find a way to win her heart while convincing her they’re better together than apart. Because despite how hot her teasing makes him, securing her in his life and in his Pack is no laughing matter.
