Flame of the Phoenix

Hades' Carnival Book 6

I found Flame of the Phoenix to be an amazing novella, and it was fast paced. The story was well-written, and I could not put the book down. I wanted to find out what would happen next. I finished reading it at 12:09 A.M.

Hades and his minions would do anything to hurt Matilda "Tilly" Ledet. I wanted to see how Phoenix (immortal warrior, phoenix shifter), and Tilly (human female) survived Hades' wrath. Will Tilly learn to trust, take a chance on love, and stop letting her bad childhood memories destroy her future? Phoenix is determined to break down any of her walls that she rebuilds, and claim her heart. Phoenix is a wonderful, take charge kind of guy, considerate, loving, protector, and sexy. I found myself smiling while reading this novella.

This story has original storyline, drama, action, and suspense. The chemistry between these Phoenix and Tilly are intense! I enjoyed reading about Phoenix and Tilly's steamy scenes, and their happy ever after. The characters in the story are dynamic. The story was great, and characters' dialogues was believable. The story was well paced, and the setting was realistic. I liked how Hades' ex-wife (Persephone) keeps popping up, asking him questions, and checks on him. I could imagine being on the run from Hades' minions or surrounded by Phoenix's protective flame.

I highly recommend Flame of the Phoenix! I give 5 stars to Flame of the Phoenix (Hades' Carnival Series, Book 6) by N.J. Walters. This book can be read standalone. This urban fantasy and paranormal romance is for readers 18+ age group due to sexual content.

Book Blurb for Flame of the Phoenix

Phoenix is afraid—a first for the immortal warrior. Beautiful, forthright Tilly Ledet fires his mind and body. She’s been helping Phoenix and his shape-shifting comrades in their battle against Hades, and now she is in danger and doesn’t think she needs his protection.

When Phoenix shows up insisting she drop everything to go into hiding with him, Tilly balks. Phoenix is gorgeous, courageous, and convincing, and he also does something to her heart… But he’s an immortal shape shifter, and she’s human, not to mention they also have Hades on their trail, so giving in to the heat between them could send them both up in flames.

Each book in the Hades’ Carnival series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.
