I read Flat Stanley: His Original Adventure! with my niece. We read it in one sitting. I really like how that this book encourages neighborly actions and family. Stanley is flat, but that does not stop him from helping others…especially when he needs to act like a flat portrait or be mailed in an envelope to save money on airfare. His brother loves him, but he gets a little jealous of all the attention Stanley gets. Arthur realizes that Stanley is his brother and he tries to help him. I found myself giggling and talking to my niece about what we could do if we were flat. We also talked about what she could not do. We will be reading the whole series together! I liked that this book was also updated from a prior release.
I’m giving Flat Stanley: His Original Adventure! a 5/5.
When Stanley Lambchop wakes up one morning, his brother, Arthur, is yelling. A bulletin board fell on Stanley during the night, and now he is only half an inch thick! Amazing things begin happening to him. Stanley gets rolled up, mailed, and flown like a kite. He even gets to help catch two dangerous art thieves. He may be flat, but he's a hero. This is the very first Flat Stanley adventure, updated with crisp new art.
