Colin has enjoyed his single life, far from his family and their demands and responsibilities. But when his father threatens to sell a property that Colin holds dear unless Colin changes his ways and marries, Colin has no choice. But with Lady Angeline Brenham’s help, he hopes to change his father’s mind. Angeline is excluded from Society because of a called off engagement, but doesn’t plan on marrying until her spinsterhood threatens her sister’s chances of having a Season. Colin and Angeline know that an engagement could settle their problems but both hope for more than a marriage of convenience. Can they both achieve their dreams without heartbreak?
Vicky Dreiling’s book is engaging and romantic without being overly sappy. The only drawback is how tritely the ending wraps up, but the book is still a solid read for fans of regency romances.
