The Counterfeit Countess

Kay Furness has written a delightful book that will be a welcome addition to any Regency Romance fan’s collection. Sir Francis Surby knew from the first moment that Rosalind was trouble. She claimed to be the widow of his cousin Tom, but had no marriage certificate, letters, or witnesses to substantiate her claim. After fleeing the riots in Paris that had killed her husband and destroyed the church records of her marriage, all Rosalind wanted was her late husband’s family to accept her and aid her search for a new husband. She may have forced them to accept her in public, but Francis would never be able to open his heart to someone he considered an adventuress … or would he?

The author has pen a tale of miscommunications and misunderstandings that keep the reader eagerly turning pages. The appealing book is an entertaining read that can’t be put down till the last page.

He knows she must be a shameless adventuress; the only problem is that the more time he spends with her, the less he cares. And with his moral duty on a collision course with his feelings, Rosalind herself discovers that her painful past is not as buried as she had hoped…
