Tempted by a Warrior

Lady Fiona Jardine has regretted her elopement and marriage to Will Jardine, but not enough to kill him. But it's been weeks since he's been seen, and rumors are swirling around her about her possible involvement in his disappearance. But with Will's father dying, her baby due at any time, and a cousin of Will's summoned as a new heir, Fiona has no time to succomb to thoughts of what might have happened the night Will disappeared. Fiona expects Will's cousin, Sir Richard Kirkhill, to be as cruel and controlling as the rest of his family, but he seems to different. Kirkhill realizes from almost the first minute he met Fiona that she was incapable of killing her husband, but knows she is hiding something from him about that night. Will she be able to open her heart and trust him with the truth?

Amanda Scott's novel "Tempted by a Warrior" takes the reader to Scotland in 1377. Unfortunately, the use of Scottish dialect distracts from the story. Plus, the thought of Fiona only be seventeen, while appropriate to the period setting, is still distracting and somewhat disturbing. I was unable to immerse myself in the story and thus wasn't able to enjoy it as much as I had hoped. For fans of authentic Scottish historical  romances, "Tempted by a Warrior" is sure to delight.
