My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon

A Collection of New Short Stories Edited by P.N. Elrod

I enjoyed some of the short stories in this anthology but I suspect that may be because I have read the prequel My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding as well as being familiar with several of the authors in this collection works.

The stories are "Stalked" by Kelley Armstrong, "Heorot" by Jim Butcher, "Roman Holiday, or SPQ-arrrrrr" by Rachel Caine, "Her Mother's Daughter" by P.N. Elrod, "Newlydeads" by Caitlin Kittredge, "Where the Heart Lives" by Marjorie M. Liu, "Cat Got Your Tongue" by Katie MacAlister, "Half of Being Married" by Lilith Saintcrow and "A Wulf in Groom's Clothing" by Ronda Thompson.

It is hard to make a short story work given the allotted amount of space. And not every author had the ample amount of space needed, in my opinion, to give their stories adequate justice. Of the nine stories they were pretty evenly divided between ones I loved (4 out of 9), liked (3 out of 9) and didn't care for (2 out of 9). Among my favorites were Caitlin Kittredge's, Lilith Saintcrow's, Jim Buthcher's and Kelley Armstrong's stories.

My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon is a nice intro to a lot of different authors. This anthology has something for everyone from funny to dark suspense. This book is very well written and I would recommend it to any paranormal fan. If you are a fan of the paranormal or urban fantasy genre then this book is a definite must read.
