Business owner and psychic Greer Sands recently relocated to a quiet suburb of Shadow Hills outside of Los Angeles with her son Joshua. There she runs the Eye of the Beholder Beauty Salon and Day Spa with her friend and partner Dario. Greer has the ability to see the future. She's gotten visions she will meet three new friends. But she has also been getting a strong sense of evil hanging around the town like a dense fog.
Her son Joshua has begun showing signs of his own psychic ability. Greer does everything she can to help him with his gift, but when his friend Joy goes missing and his visions grow stronger he is forced to come to terms with and adjust to his psychic gift. He works hard to decipher the clues to Joy's whereabouts.
Eye of the Beholder is a riveting, intense, suspense-filled read, which will have you on the edge of your seat. Ms Shattuck is a wonderful storyteller who paints her character fully and realistically. Eye of the Beholder was well developed with details and expressively drawn, though the detailed and graphic scenes of violence, rape and torture may not be easy for some to read. This book kept me guessing until the final clue was given and the suspect revealed.
Greer Sands has always downplayed her psychic abilities, but when she moves to a sleepy Los Angeles suburb with her teenage son to open another branch of her successful salon and spa, it doesn't take long for her to sense that something deeply evil is about to break over this peaceful community. There is imminent danger in the lives of her new friends and neighbors, and Greer knows she must find a way to protect them.
