The Hunting Moon is the first book I've read by Evelyn Shepherd and it definitely won't be my last. I was immediately swept up in the intensity of the storyline and the uniquely sexy and interesting characters. Between the action filled edge of edge of your seat plot and the sizzling chemistry between the main characters this book packs a lot of punch and is a very fast paced read.
Theo Bourne is a very cynical, grouchy man who has special abilities that makes him unique. He's plagued by dark, nightmarish dreams that have him running from his past. When he meets his new partner, Carlos Ramirez with the Preternatural Task Force he can't escape the one night stand that he had with Carlos and the passionate intensity of desire they had for one another.
Carlos Ramirez is funny, relaxed alpha werecoyote who is almost totally opposite of Theo. He's determined to not only wedge through the huge emotional barrier that Theo puts between them, Carlos is also determined to solve the mysterious slayings of werewolves and to work through the mysterious happenings of Theo's past. Will Carlos be able to melt the ice around Theo's heart and fulfill his heart's desire to be with Theo forever?
I really loved this book. The verbal sparring and the amazing chemistry between Theo and Carlos kept me glued to the story. I appreciated Carlos' sheer stubbornness to worm his way into Theo's selfishly guarded heart. Even though, Theo is a likeable hero, it was Carlos who stole my heart.
I also appreciated the slow building relationship between the Theo and Carlos. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve into something that resonates deep within my mind long after the book was over. If you are a fan of paranormal romances and love fabulously flawed heroes, The Hunting Moon is definitely the book for you!

Theo Bourne, a powerful Phantom, has returned to Columbus to escape his past. He didn’t plan on sleeping with it. But the one-night stand he had with Carlos is proving to be unforgettable in every sense of the word, mainly because Carlos is his new partner on the Preternatural Task Force. Theo wants to put as much space between him and the very evident sexual desire he has for Carlos, so that means immersing himself in their latest case -- the gruesome murder of two lycanthropes.
Carlos Ramirez has been pining for Theo for a very long time and he isn’t about to let him go. Theo’s heart is guarded by a protective ten-foot layer of ice, though. It’s going to take a lot of charm and a lot of coaxing for this werecoyote to melt the ice. Especially since it feels like every time he starts to warm up to his cold hearted partner, the case takes an unexpected and deadly turn.
