Admittedly, I’m a huge fan of the friends-to-lovers themed romances. Throw in a sexy cowboy or two on top of that, and I’m in heaven. When I read the blurb for Cowboy Crush, I couldn’t wait to read and review it. Cowboy Crush by Eve Cassidy is a sweet and sexy romance that is a very satisfying read from start to finish. I found myself immediately caught up in the relationship between Eli and Vinn and quickly found myself rallying behind them as they worked toward their transition from friends to lovers.
Eli Smith has a dream of owning a small ranch of his own. Since he works on the rodeo circuit, he spends many nights bunking with his best friend, Vinn, and dreaming of a time he can retire from rodeo life and live happily in his ranch home with his fiancée. When Eli gets a Dear John letter from her, he knows he’s lost more than his future wife. For months he’s been sending her money to put back for their own place and now he’s lost his fiancée, his life savings and worst of all… his dream to have his own place to call his own. When Eli’s best friend, Vinn, finds out about Eli’s loss, he immediately does what he can to console him. The two men have been best friends for years, and even though Vinn is an openly gay cowboy, Eli has always accepted him with an open mind and heart. When innocent touches become a heated encounter between the two men, Eli is faced with some life changing decisions. Will Eli take a chance with Vinn’s love?
Cowboy Crush has a fast paced storyline with some very passionate and heartfelt moments between Eli and Vinn in which I thoroughly enjoyed. One of the main reasons I really liked this book was because of the obvious affection and the intense chemistry between Eli and Vinn. It was easy to believe that these men were best friends and even easier to see how it was almost natural for them to become lovers. Both heroes are extremely honorable, sexy and likeable men. They are written very realistically and they would be someone I would be proud to call a friend in my everyday life. If you are looking for a sweet and sexy romance, Cowboy Crush is definitely the book for you.
Cowboy Crush is the first book I’ve read that has been written by Ms. Cassidy and it definitely won’t be my last. I really enjoyed the easy style of writing she has and her love scenes were very hot! I’m looking forward to reading more by her and will be looking out for more books written by her in the future.
When the future depends on trust—things might get a little rowdy.
After receiving a Dear John letter from his fiancée, Eli Smith isn’t sure what comes next. He’s spent years going from one rodeo to the next, biding his time and saving his money for the ranch he wanted to call home. Unfortunately, he tries to find the answers at the local saloon—too bad the more he drinks, the more he can’t stop thinking about the attraction he’s had to deny. Until now…
Ready to hit the road, Vinn hunts down his circuit companion and best friend, Eli. The last place he expected to find him was in the saloon drowning himself in the bottom of a bottle of whiskey. As if things weren’t complicated enough with the ever-growing attraction between them. But alcohol lowers inhibitions, and for a few brief minutes, Vinn entertains thoughts of going for it—despite the fiancée, despite the friendship, and despite the fact Eli isn’t gay.
Rodeos and cowboys make good bedfellows. But do you risk a friendship simply to scratch an itch?
