Watch Out, Hollywood!

More Confessions of a So-called Middle Child

Watch Out, Hollywood is a sequel to Confessions of a So-Called Middle Child, but it reads well as a standalone. The author made multiple mentions of events from book one, so it was easy to piece together the events that have led up to Watch Out, Hollywood. You basically know what happened in book one. So don't worry if you haven't read book one, you won't be lost.

My daughter whom is ten, and not a middle child, loved Charlie who is the middle child. Which means she has a mean case of the 'middle child syndrome now. 'En' Darine (my oldest) knows how it feels to be the one left out on the account of her little sister whom is almost 4. She said that she felt like Charlie in that she isn't cute enough anymore. I had to kind of laugh at that one. It was very cute.

In this book, Charlie, a reformed bully and recent hero, is determined to become a Hollywood starlet, even if that means lying. Which she finds out is much harder to do when its gymnastics. She finds out whom of her friends she can trust. Charlie really struggles with who she wants to be. We were all hoping that becoming a bully again wasn't one of them.

This book all in all was great. Although it does touch on bullying and lying, it was still a great story that older elementary and middle graders will love.
