Vanishing Girls

I always read what Lauren Oliver puts out. I’ve done this since her first book. The only issue is I never know what I'm going to get. This book was just not for me. The changing POV really killed the story for me personally. It really made me not care about the characters or who's POV I was in. The way this one was written in blog posts was annoying. And each chapter really made me want to go to sleep. I was hoping that we would get some great twist in this one like Panic or the Delirium series, but as each chapter went by I found myself making up reasons on why I needed to put it down. After about 50% in I gave up. It wasn’t getting any better and it was taking me about 20 minutes just to get through a page.

Book Blurb for Vanishing Girls

New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver delivers a gripping story about two sisters inexorably altered by a terrible accident.

Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara's beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it's too late.

In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.
