This book is a piece of work. And not in a good way! Not because the main character is rich, gets A's, has all the freedom she wants, etc. She still seemed like a pretty good leading lady. The issues I had with this was the story itself.
The author has gotten some really bad rap from her other series. But this one looked so good I just had to try it. But it was exposition and cliché-heavy right from the start.
Instead of this being a wonderful story about a reawakened Egyptian it resulted in a messed up story. It turned Egyptian myths into cheap dramatics and bad historical inaccuracies. I know that this is fiction but some things still need to be correct to make a good story.
With all of that this book really ended up being a redo of her other series the Tiger's Curse. She just switched out the names and history and made a new book.
I just gave up about 80 pages in. I just couldn't force myself to read it.
