Review done by a friend of CrossroadReview / Jessica.
I was a HUGE fan of “Half Bad” the first novel in this trilogy. It had an unconventional way of telling the story which grabbed me right out of my seat. When Jessica gave this one to me to read I think I had a heart attack!! I started and finished it in a few hours and well now I'm dying for book three.
I’m always a lot more nervous with book twos as they always seem to have that “middle book syndrome” and pretty much just work to bridge a gap between book one and book three. Well with Half Wild that sooooooo beyond didn’t happen! This was an amazing follow up to book one that added depth to both the mythology and the characters. It had twists and turns that will drive you nuts and turn you on your head!
Nathan is being pulled in like a million different directions trying to find this person to save that person and well staying one step ahead of the hunters. Then comes the Rebel group of witches. It’s a defiant journey you want to take.
This book had wonderful world building. Readers are in for witches and an intelligent and authentic political landscape. Plus emotion and more make this book simply fabulous!
I HIGHLY recommended.
"You will have a powerful Gift, but it’s how you use it that will show you to be good or bad."
In a modern-day England where two warring factions of witches live amongst humans, seventeen-year-old Nathan is an abomination, the illegitimate son of the world's most powerful and violent witch. Nathan is hunted from all sides: nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. Now, Nathan has come into his own unique magical Gift, and he's on the run--but the Hunters are close behind, and they will stop at nothing until they have captured Nathan and destroyed his father.
