What's one to do with an unsatisfied rake, recently turned duke, looking for an escape? For Abagail, the answer is in her seductive pursuit of The Duke of Wallingford. He is, after all, the perfect solution to her need for a lover.
However, in a humorous twist of fate, Wallingford is determined to remain celibate for a years time. How the devil is a man to keep his resolve with a charming, secretive and alluringly beautiful woman seducing him at every turn? The answer....not well!
I must say this book had a bit of irony and humor to it. A former rake who has resolved to stay celibate for a year, escapes to to a secluded castle outside of London only to share the castle with not one but three women! How wickedly delicious! It's also quite a hoot that the lovely Abagail is ready to take a lover, only to find the lover within her grasp has sworn off sex.
Mixed within the pages of this book are wonderful main characters, charming supporting characters and a bit of a laugh with a seductively steamy romance. It was a wonderful and original read.
Impatient with the strictures of polite British society, Miss Abigail Harewood has decided to live life on her own terms—and the first thing she requires is a lover. When the commanding Duke of Wallingford arrives on the doorstep of her leased holiday castle, she thinks she’s found the perfect candidate: handsome, dashing, and experienced in the art of love.
But tempting Wallingford into her bed proves more difficult than she imagined. Restless and dissatisfied with his debauched life in London, the formerly rakish duke is determined to spend a year chaste. But as Abigail tries her best to seduce him, Wallingford finds his resolve crumbling in the face of her irresistible charm…and her alluring secrets.
