"Assassin Next Door" is an contemporary romance about Lily, a single mother who falls in love with her next-door neighbor, Calvin. Calvin happens to kill people for a living, and once he meets Lily, all hell starts to break loose for both of them.
I really enjoyed this book! I thought it would be another cliche romance, but it was actually very unpredictable and really funny! Calvin, the sexy assassin, was very witty and funny and Lily, the heroine was sarcastic and sweet. They complimented each other very well, and I loved their back and forth banter and their beautiful, electrifying chemistry.
The only thing that slightly bothered me was the first love scene between the main characters. It happened too late. The author had an excellent sexual build up and I was waiting...and waiting for them to finally "do it" and when it finally happened, I was 70% into the book. That was much too late; the book was almost over. It should have happened earlier.
Overall, I have to say that this was a great, action-packed romance that kept me engaged and enthralled. It was filled with fun characters, funny dialogue, thrilling scenes and excellent writing. I highly recommend this to all romance readers.
A killer with a white picket fence.
Suburbia, a great place for a man with secrets to hide while investing in some solid real estate. The biggest drawback?
In this case, a neighbor with sexy curves and a bright smile. Good thing she's not his type. Single moms with annoying ex-husbands are on the do-not-date list.
Calvin wants to; it's just not happening. He can't help but find himself drawn to the chaos next door. And when danger threatens his suburban lifestyle, this assassin doesn't hesitate to act.
Killing people is easy. Domestication, on the other hand...
