This was a beautiful and heartwarming story. Most people don’t think PTSD exists but it does and I’m glad that Skylar had a place to go where they not only help her but giver her peace. Being out in nature really grounded her and I think it’s more to do with the way she was raised and her torture just solidified it. I can’t even imagine being kidnapped for two weeks by the Taliban, let alone being water boarded. That would mess with anyone but Skyler is not only strong and brave, she’s a survivor. It makes it better to have Grayson around because he knows what she’s going through because he too has PTSD. He was able to answer all her questions. I found it interesting the twist that was thrown in with Jordana and the drug that blocks or plugs the cortisol.
The title caught my eye because I love wolves and I fell deeper in love with them as I read this. Grayson and Skylar are an awesome alpha pair and I loved the fact that they saved the last three wolf pups from the bear and got to raise them. Skylar really loved them and they gave her so much joy. She and Grayson are so in tune with nature that it’s cute. I also found what his mother does intriguing. I recommend this book.
