Holy crap, Violet Grenade was crazy. There was so much going on and I got sucked in from the very first page. Victoria Scott wrote an amazing book that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. This is one of those books that will stay with me for years to come. It was a very well developed plot and some things were obvious while others made you go “huh”. There are a lot of characters that are floating around but each has their role to play. Without each character,Violet Grenade would not be the awesome book it is.
You have Domino who chooses Madam Karina to help a friend and realizes soon after what the consequences of that decision are. You have Madam Karina that saw Domino and wanted her in her house. You have Cain who is full of guilt and anger and is immediately taken by Domino. You have Poppet who takes to Domino from the start and wants to be friends. You have Angie and her dogs who sell things to Madam Karina’s house but has secrets she’s keeping. You have a police officer who's an ass and Mr. Hodge, who I wanted dead from the first moment he couldn't keep his hands to himself and then you had Lola who was interesting and wanted to follow her dreams. The character that takes the cake though is Wilson and boy is he scary as hell, but I loved the way he protected Domino.
Violet Grenade was a truly amazing book and I highly recommend it.
DOMINO: A runaway with blood on her hands.
CAIN: A silent boy about to explode.
MADAM KARINA: A woman who demands obedience.
WILSON: The one who will destroy them all.
When Madam Karina discovers Domino in an alleyway, she offers her a position inside her home for entertainers in secluded West Texas. Left with few alternatives and an agenda of her own, Domino accepts. It isn't long before she is fighting her way up the ranks to gain the madam's approval. But after suffering weeks of bullying and unearthing the madam's secrets, Domino decides to leave. It'll be harder than she thinks, though, because the madam doesn't like to lose inventory. But then, Madam Karina doesn't know about the person living inside Domino's mind.
Madam Karina doesn't know about Wilson.
