What would you do if you lost the love of your life? Would you be able to move on? How long before you find someone else? If you found that someone else would you be willing to let yourself feel for them? Or would you let your guilt consume you and run away?
In "Through The Red Door", Clara suffers through all this and more. After losing her husband she continues to run their book store which is famous for their more risque books in the back. When Nick comes through her doors and brings his assistant, Darcy, with him feelings she thought long gone surface again. Though I know what she was going through and I understood her, I found myself very frustrated and just wanted to yell. Here is this gorgeous woman who has people fighting over her and she’s so scared to let go and be happy again.
I truly loved Nick because there were plenty of times where he could have been angry, taken advantage of her or thrown a fit but he was so understanding it brought tears to my eyes. He really listened to her and helped the best he could when it came to her fear and guilt. He had some experience with that himself so I thought it was amazing that he opened himself up like that. I enjoyed seeing them both step out into the world and get some sun instead of hiding in the shadows.
