The Unyielding

Call of Crows, #3

Whenever I’m down or just truly want a laugh, I turn to the Call of Crows series. The Unyielding is the third one in the series and boy, it did not disappoint. Since I read the first book I have wanted to know more about Erin Amsel and I got that chance with The Unyielding. Erin has always cracked me up but boy she had me rolling as I read. The things she says and does are just great. Most people would think of her a the dopey blonde and I guess to a point she fits. In all actually it though she just doesn’t care. If something doesn’t interest her enough then she just shrugs it off. Most people think she’s pretending or ignoring it but really she doesn’t care or the event wasn't big enough for her to dwell on it.

Stieg was adorable and I loved how protective everybody was with him. At certain points it got ridiculous but it was adorable in a way. It’s nice to know that people will look out for you like that. I got a real kick out of his goat and I wasn't the only one. Karen was an interesting character as well. Betty was just hilarious, the way that woman can bring people to tears or control others is just truly amazing.

Stieg and Erin get voted to set out on a mission to save the world and things just get crazy from there. I loved reading every part of the The Unyielding and when it comes to the Crows series Shelly Laurenston does not disappoint. I really hope I get the chance to read the next one that comes along. I give this crazy adventure my recommendation and hope there is more to come in the world of Crows, Vikings and Norse Gods.

Book Blurb for The Unyielding

Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has got big problems. The human Viking Clans of earth are in danger of being obliterated—along with the rest of the world—and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can’t stand…

Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn’t she when the other Viking Clans are so hilariously arrogant and humorless? She’s not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn’t expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he’s so easy to torment—and also kind of cute.

With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he’ll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin’s face. Wait. What? He didn’t mean that—did he? No! They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one…
