I loved reading this and was absorbed from the first page. Maya banks is another favorite author of mine and I can tell that this will be another great series. I cannot wait to read the next book.
I felt so bad for Ramie and the life she lived. To have to go through what she does with no breaks is mind numbing and I can’t believe she survived as long as she has. Caleb bursting into her life and taking the decision out of her hands made me mad. What right did he have to judge her? Did he live her life? Did he suffer the way she did? There was a reason why she shut herself off from the world and he had no right to take that from her. It pains me to think of what she went through for years without the help of someone around her. I felt a slight satisfaction in Caleb’s horror when he witnessed what she goes through every time she’s asked to find a missing person. I really wanted to punch him in the face. I was also glad that she had him to turn to when she needed help a year later.
Tori is the perfect example of what happens and how a person deals with not only being attacked, tortured and raped but facing the person who was involved in getting her out and reminding her of what she went through. Ramie getting her happy ending with Calen was very refreshing for me and I loved that she got to be a part of a family.
A sizzling story of a woman who risks her life and her heart to find a wealthy man’s missing sister—the first novel in a sexy new romantic suspense series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks
When Caleb Devereaux's younger sister is kidnapped, this scion of a powerful and wealthy family turns to an unlikely source for help: a beautiful and sensitive woman with a gift for finding answers others cannot.
While Ramie can connect to victims and locate them by feeling their pain, her ability comes with a price. Every time she uses it, it costs her a piece of herself. Helping the infuriatingly attractive and impatient Caleb successfully find his sister nearly destroys her. Even though his sexual intensity draws her like a magnet, she needs to get as far away from him as she can.
Deeply remorseful for the pain he’s caused, Caleb is determined to make things right. But just when he thinks Ramie's vanished forever, she reappears. She’s in trouble and she needs his help. Now, Caleb will do risk everything to protect her—including his heart. . . .
