The sexual tension between Elle and Trey is hot from the start and it’s made even more crazy by the chaos that goes on around them. When a riot breaks out where they are she takes off before Trey can protect her. When Elle gets taken on her way to the airport it’s up to Trey and his men to go save her. From there it’s a fast paced adventure to figure out what’s going on and why people are coming after Elle.
It’s no surprise the connection they have, when you're in a high risk situation you develop a closeness that others, except soldiers, don’t understand. I really enjoyed reading Holding Fire and April Hunt kept me engaged in the story until the very last page.
At the end you get a preview of the next book called Hard Justice.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE Alpha Security operative Trey Hanson is ready to settle down. When he meets a gorgeous blonde in a bar, and the connection between them is off the charts, he thinks he's finally found the one. But after their night together ends in a hail of gunfire and she disappears in the chaos, Trey's reasons for tracking her down are personal . . . until he learns she's his next assignment. Elle Monroe never expected to see Trey again. The night they shared was incredible, but the last thing she's looking for is a relationship. Now that it's clear she's being targeted, though, she has no choice but to trust this man she barely knows with her life. And Trey's not just determined to keep her safe . . . he's determined to win her heart.
