Arena, #2

"Gauntlet" is a pretty thick book about 438 pages. It was the cover that caught my eye in the first place. It took a little to get into but once I did, I couldn’t stop reading. Kali is something else. She’s a very interesting character and by the time I finished the book, I felt like I knew her. She faces some big challenges, her whole team does but I feel like she kept them together. When they lost focus she did her best to bring them back to what really mattered; surviving.

"Gauntlet" almost reminds me of the movie Gamer, the only difference is they don’t have anyone controlling them. Kali is tough but that doesn't mean she doesn't have her moments of doubt and fear. To be the best and win the game she and her team have to work together and come out on top, or they will all suffer the consequences and end up disappearing into the unknown. It was a good read and I enjoyed it.
