Fan the Flames is an interesting read and I was hooked as soon as I read the back cover. The thought of a firefighter being in a motorcycle gang or club was just interesting and surprising. I would think the he would have gotten fired for that considering the things they do but Ian does a very good job keeping the two separated. Saying so, his life gets turned upside down when a dead body is found along with something that belongs to him. Ian claims he was set up but he’ll have to go to bat not only against the sheriff's department but guys he thought of as brothers.
Then you have Rory who is kick ass and runs illegal guns out of her shop in the middle of nowhere. When she goes head to head against the son of the leader of the motorcycle club her life is turned into chaos. Her living situation is something to think about and made me wonder why no one else does it, it’s practical and makes sense. That being said, I do not think I could have survived as long as she did with her parents. I would have lost my mind.
When Rory and Ian team up they become a part of something great and I loved it. They both had things going on in their lives that made them weary but slowly they started to trust each other. Having to depend on someone is not something that comes easy with them but they learn and it was a beautiful thing to see. Fan the Flames is a book I have no problems recommending.
In the remote Rocky Mountains, lives depend on the Search & Rescue brotherhood. But in a place this far off the map, trust is hard to come by and secrets can be murder...
As a Motorcycle Club member and firefighter, Ian Walsh is used to riding the line between the good guys and the bad. He may owe the Club his life, but his heart rests with his fire station brothers...and with the girl he's loved since they were kids, Rory Sorenson. Ian would do anything for Rory. He'd die for her. Kill for her. Defend her to his last breath-and he may just have to.
Every con in the Rockies knows Rory is the go-to girl for less-than-legal firearms, and for the past few years, she's managed to keep the peace between dangerous factions by remaining strictly neutral. But when she defends herself against a brutal attack, Rory finds herself catapulted into the center of a Motorcycle Club war-with only Ian standing between her and a threat greater than either of them could have imagined.
