Eye of the Eagle

The Hotel LaBelle Series Book 3

There were a couple things that tripped me up in "Eye of the Eagle" but in all I enjoyed it. When you’re dealing with a kidnapping things are always tense and even more so when you know who you’re dealing with. Dealing with shapeshifters is always fun and I was very intrigued by the description. Some of the names threw me off and at times I was a little lost. It might be due to the fact that this book is the third one in the series. I think had I read the first two beforehand, I would have been able to track everything better.

That being said the story-line was solid and made sense. Bert and Phoebe are dealing with their own personal demons and aren’t sure if they are open to a relationship. Things get more complicated when Bert’s niece, Miriam, gets kidnapped and he goes to help in anyway he can. Things get dangerous and boy are you in for a surprise when you find out who Phoebe’s mother is. I love her little dog, Bisou, she’s adorable and protective as hell.

There were a lot of characters that were introduced and sometimes it made my head spin. I think if I had read the previous books it still would have been a lot. There were a lot of people to track and figuring out who was related to who was kind of frustrating. In all it was a good read but I wish the author had let it known that this was part of a series and not a standalone book.
