Raisa is hearing things about her father that cannot be true, but deep down she has a feeling they are. If that’s the case then her job and maybe even her life are in jeopardy.
Ben and his daughter are interesting characters but sometimes I just felt like shaking Ben. Here he is in a foreign country, with his little girl, they're both in danger and instead of going to the embassy to be safe he stays so that his daughter can continue with her alternative medicine. One character that really caught my eye was Batya, she’s a thrill, a sniper and you never quite know what side she’s on but she takes orders well and fears only one person that I know of. The fight scene between her and Raisa was fun. Not only that but then you have Haddid popping up all over the place as well. Then in between all of this you have bodies dropping left and right, a flash drive with data on it that everyone wants and Raisa doing what she can to keep Ben and his daughter, Lucy safe.
From the first sentence I was caught in the book and taken on a journey that showed me Israel in a way that others might not have even had a chance to see. Chris’s descriptions of the background and what takes place were so good that I actually felt like I was right there in the middle of the action. I didn’t want to put the book down, I was hooked. Each character has a story and after learning about Ben’s son his reasons are understandable but no more less crazy and dangerous. He fought Raisa on practically everything and if it had been me I would have just knocked him out and taken him where it was safe, regardless of the consequences. Raisa was there to do a job and Ben treated her like the enemy.
Raisa ?Rae” Jordan, an agent for the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service, isn't in Israel for more than a day before her predecessor is gunned down in a Tel Aviv square by a sniper. They may be the sniper's next target and are most certainly being threatened by a desperate cadre of terrorists with their sights set on the Secretary of State's upcoming visit. There are no protocols for this kind of a situation, and following the rules is exactly the kind of thing that could get the Taylors killed. To subvert an attack that could crush the fledgling peace in the Middle East, Jordan must trust her instincts and bring together a contentious team of agents from Israel, the U.S., and the Palestinian territories to uncover a conspiracy years in the making.
