All Things New

All Things New started out a little slow for me but once I got to page 8 it picked up. I was caught in the story of this girl who had a horrible experience and then went through the thought “Am I crazy?” She saw things others didn't, she felt things others didn't and it scared her. If I was in her situation I would not have held up as much as she did. Jessa is a very strong person who is just trying to put her life back together after a terrible car accident. Leaving behind her life in L.A. she moves to Colorado to live with her dad and start over. There she meets siblings, Hannah and Marshall who will forever change her life.

Thinking your going crazy is never a fun thing, especially when you start seeing things that aren’t really there. Jessa suffered a unique and bizarre brain injury that affected the way she saw things. She might be covered in scars and feel broken on the inside but she is truly a strong person. She has been through alot and she could have just given up and disappeared from the world, but she decided to live and be apart of it. I think her moving to Colorado was a great decision for her, it helped her breathe and she got a better support system then she had in L.A.

All Things New dealt with a lot of things but it in no way took away from the story. The author was not afraid to go into hard problems and bring up difficult situations. Hannah and Marshall dealt with some pretty crazy things in their own right as well. The story flowed and once I got into it, I could not stop reading till I got to the last page. This book will make you cry, scream, roar with anger and cheer for the characters as they go through the hard thing that is life.

What if we could see things as they truly are?

From the author of PARALLEL and FREE TO FALL comes a novel about how it feels to be broken and what it means to be real.

Seventeen-year-old Jessa Gray has always felt broken inside, but she’s gotten very good at hiding it. No one at school knows about the panic attacks, the therapy that didn't help, the meds that haven’t worked. But when a severe accident leaves her with a brain injury and noticeable scars, Jessa’s efforts to convince the world that she’s okay finally crumble—now she looks as shattered as she feels. Fleeing from her old life in Los Angeles, Jessa moves to Colorado to live with her dad, but things go from bad to worse when she realizes she’s seeing bruises and scars on the people around her that no one else can see. She blames it on the accident, but as her body heals and the hallucinations continue, Jessa wonders if what she’s seeing could somehow have a deeper meaning. In her quest for answers, she falls for Marshall, a boy whose kindness and generous heart slowly draw Jessa out of her walled-off shell and into the broken, beautiful, real world—a place where souls get hurt just as badly as bodies, and we all need each other to heal.

ALL THINGS NEW is a love story about perception and truth, physical and emotional pain, and the messy, complicated people we are behind the masks we put on for the world.
