Lover Enshrined

Black Dagger Brotherhood, #6

First let me get my pet peeves out of the way first. I hate texting and do not like reading so many abbreviations of words and sayings. I spent way too much time trying to decipher some of these. Second why all the brand name-dropping? We know that the Brothers can get anything that they want so let us imagine if they are wearing Armani, GAP or even Calvin Kleins. I want to picture them in my mind that is what reading is all about.our own "visions" taken on the same text. And finally while I understand why there wasn't enough "romance" in this book, I would have liked to see a bit more.

Now with that out of the way this book rocked me!! So much happened in this book that I have to think of it rather than Phury and Cormia's story, I think of it as a jumpstart to many other stories.

There are many moments that you want to either shake some sense into Phury or cry for him. He has given so much of himself, unselfishly and now it is taking a toll on him with addiction to the Red Smoke. Along with this he is supposed to be the Primale for the Scribe Virgins chosen. When he chooses Cormia you hope that he has finally found his mate. Things go wrong from the beginning. Phury thinks that she is so far above him in worth that he finds her untouchable. Watching him fight his way back from addiction and to find love is heart wrenching.

Some of the other subplots include:

John Matthew and his buddies, Qhuinn and Blay are involved in a locker room brawl with that goes horribly wrong.

There is a chance to learn more about Rhev and Xhex and their Sympath ways. Also Rhev has more going on in his life than we have known before. There are some unlikely twists here and one real surprise at the end.

We get to understand more about John Matthew and his relationship with Xhex {this is really hot}. I cannot wait to see where this goes.

You really get to see more of Qhuinn's background and his friendship with Blay. This is one of my favorite subplots because you really get to see Qhuinn mature.

Bella and Z are back with the awaiting birth of the new young. Lots here too.

The Omega returns with a new plot and we get to see some of it from his perspective.

And finally to those of us waiting for Thor we get to see a small part of his story here.

I loved this book and find that I will have to read it again to really get all of the nuances in it. Ms. Ward took me on a roller coaster ride with this story. My emotions from one chapter to the next ran from joy to tears. I highly recommend this story.

Book Blurb for Lover Enshrined

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. And now, a dutiful twin must choose between two lives...

Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished.

As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself- she sees the emotionally scarred male behind all his noble responsibility. But while the war with the Lessening Society grows more grim, and tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, Phury must decide between duty and love.
