This was a guilty pleasure to read; not a lot of plot, lots of sex, alpha male and butt-kicking heroine. Humans on the brink of dying are snatched from Earth and taken to another world to be mated, both males and females (interesting concept). Kadan is minding his own business when he smells “her” and the game is on. That alien moves with a purpose and we go from zero to breaking the sound barrier.
Jordan is military and as such is no- nonsense. Her first order is to escape, but it becomes obvious there is nowhere to run. Then she is grabbed by Kadan and finds herself instantly attracted and quickly bitten and bedded. And she needs to get pregnant, now.
There wasn’t enough world building and I would have been very interested in more background. The Vor are interesting and I had a lot of questions left unanswered. Since the title indicates it is book one, I hope more details are provided in subsequent books.
It was a quick and steamy read, but there were inconsistencies in the personalities of Kadan and Jordan. Each had behavior in the book that didn’t jibe with their positions of authority and felt a little off. Didn’t stop me from devouring the book and loving every moment of it, though. Look forward to the next.
Army Lieutenant Jordan Ramsey is having the worst day of her life. Kidnapped, Jordan is taken from Earth and brought to a new world where she is to become the property of an alien warrior that is more demon than man. But even though her future is no longer her own, she won’t go down without a fight…
Kadan Krell is the King of Vor. As a ruthless warrior, he never thought he would find his mate, but when he sees the beautiful human named Jordan, he knows she is destined to be his. Nothing will stop him from claiming what belongs to him, and showing her exactly what it means to be a warrior’s mate.
