True

New Species, #11

My faith is restored! I have been a little disappointed in this series of late but this book is, in my opinion, back on track. This story fleshed out a lot of details for me, as well as introducing new directions for the story line to take. I really enjoyed the interplay of Jeanie between all the species, as she treated them with respect and they in turn gave theirs when she needed it, as well as protection. True doesn’t stay hung up on his anger and instead follows his heart. I have to say the tunnel vision that the humans showed in protecting the species, allegedly from themselves, got to be a bit irritating. With lots of foreplay before the big event, so to speak, this was a slow burn that kept me reading voraciously.

We are again invited into Homeland and this time there is a traitor to flush out. With the raid on a before unknown compound Jeanie, a technician who is as imprisoned as the species housed there, is shot and taken in for prosecution. When it is discovered who she really is, and her wild story of being a spy for the species through a Federal agent, all hell breaks loose as lines are drawn between species and humans, and species against species. Who’s lying and who is telling the truth? There are so many twists and turns but they all lead to Jeanie and True finally getting to consummate their attraction to one another. Highly recommended.

Book Blurb for True

Book 11 in the New Species series. The books can be read as stand-alone stories, but it is advisable to read them in order to get the most enjoyment from the series.

Jeanie loves a New Species and is willing to pay for that love with pain, tears and heartbreak. She’ll do anything to keep 710 alive but she never wants him to know how she suffered for him. He’s the reason for her mission in life—freeing others like him.

True has a new life working with the NSO to rescue his people. A good life, until he encounters a dying woman—the female who betrayed him. True should feel gratified that she’s finally going to pay for her crimes, but she claims to be a victim too. He is still irresistibly drawn to the pretty little human who touched his heart and made him want her. When he clasps her hand to offer comfort, his instincts kick in and True will fight everyone to protect her.
