Tristan's Temptation

Wired, #2

Tristan finds himself in a trap of his own making. With his well publicized rule of not dating amongst the staff he has held himself in check from his executive assistant Shannon. But now it’s getting more and more difficult since his brother Adam totally disregarded his edict and snagged himself their head accountant. And darn it, they are engaged and blissfully happy. Kind of takes the strength out of his rule, doesn’t it? And he’s more susceptible than most to break it.

Shannon has had it bad for her boss since the very beginning, but he plays by his own rules. Literally. When she gets a hint that he feels the same the gloves are off and she starts her very own campaign to make him surrender. She gets her wish, but each time he reinforces his defenses. How much can a woman take before she gives up?

It’s usually the woman taking the Yes! Yes! No! stance and it was rather amusing to see it used by a man. Tristan was on board in the moment, but then his principles reared their ugly head and he’d back away. This was a fun read while also being hot and steamy, and with some interesting technical innovations thrown in to boot. While I never doubted Tristan would finally reconcile his feelings with his morals, he certainly put Shannon through the ringer. And surely it occurred to him that he totally shut down all intelligent thinking about the third time he forgot to use protection. Shannon is eligible for sainthood in my opinion, and while I admired her determination I would have given up after Tristan broke my heart over and over. An entertaining read.

Book Blurb for Tristan's Temptation

Tristan Trillo has one steadfast rule—thou shalt not fish in the company pond. That puts his executive assistant Shannon Weiss firmly out of reach. He tells himself the secret steamy computer simulations he creates—ones featuring a seductress with more than a passing resemblance to Shannon—are enough. But watching the virtual Shannon get spanked or tied up, taken from behind or while down on her knees, just makes him want the real Shannon more.

When Shannon discovers the depth of Tristan’s desire, she vows to seduce him in real life, his rule be damned. After a blazing, illicit tryst in Tristan’s office, he insists they can never do it again. So Shannon, ever the obedient assistant, makes certain the next time she seduces him, they do something completely different.

Poor Tristan is a man trapped between his steadfast rule and a burning passion. A rock, if you will, and a very hard place.
