The Chase

Fast Track Series, #4

With the odds stacked against her because she is a woman, Kendall is determined to win in the racing circuit. She has a sponsor and is on a team, but has yet to cross the finish line first. Nothing will stand in her way. Until Evan. He’s a man from her past that she can’t forget. How stupid would it be to get involved again when everything went so horribly wrong all those years ago?

Kendall is the one that got a way. Vocal in his determination to never marry to the press, he’s eating his words after meeting Kendall again. She had his heart years ago, and now he’s ready to give her the ring he never had a chance to give her before. Who knew one meeting and talking as adults could clear up so much misunderstanding?

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again; we wouldn’t have any books to read if the characters just had a simple conversation instead of leaping to conclusions and making assumptions. And that’s exactly what happened to Kendall and Evan. Now that the air is cleared, they realize how much they actually loved one another and are going to make a go of it. But life is never that easy, is it?

With the previous characters in this series making appearances, it was a treat to see how the other couples were doing. This is a close knit group, after all. How people live in the limelight and don’t go crazy is beyond me. Every move they make is examined and broadcast, whether it is true and accurate or not. Evan made a whopper of a mistake, but his celebrity just added fuel to the flame. Kendall’s reaction was disappointing to me since the whole book was about growing up and acting like an adult. She dropped the ball when the crisis hit. I thought the ending a tad rushed considering all the build up and Kendall’s revelation not believable considering the angst and anger she was experiencing. Not my favorite in the series, but a good addition and it has me anxious to read the next.

Book Blurb for The Chase

Kendall Holbrook is determined to make it to the top, even with the challenge of being a woman on the male-dominated racing circuit. She doesn't have time for romance-especially not with racing rival Evan Monroe, the man who nearly crushed her dream years ago. Tricked into meeting him, Kendall is experiencing all those old feelings again-and she can't deny that they still have enough chemistry to set fire to the track.
