The Chariot: Scorpio Risen

Deylen Troika has been a changed man since the unsolved murder of both of his parents. Now Alpha of his clan, his mission is to find their killer, find a mate, and produce an heir. The problem is no one is attractive to him in his clan. But his new employee, Seneca McClane, is.

Her goal of going to school to become a doctor in her sites, Seneca takes a job working for Deylen Troika’s lab to earn the money to make it happen. But the money from a 9-5 job isn’t accumulating fast enough. So she tries a different method of quickly accumulating wealth, and gets “caught” by her employer. What happens after that is steamy and sexy, and the beginning of a relationship neither is prepared for.

Scorpio Risen is a different take on a shifter story, and I really was excited about it. I liked the storyline, the main characters, and the friction that made the story interesting. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get into the fact that they were insects, even though that is what drew me to the story in the first place. If there were just scorpions I think I would have been okay, but when spider shifters were introduced, I had a problem. They are my one big phobia. So, that’s just me. Give this story a try!
