Romec is the last to fall under the spell of Selection in his family. He's been having dreams but business comes first. On Earth to investigate the goings on at Port Chase he encounters a hostile but sexy woman who has Otra features. He's instantly attracted and intrigued by her accusations that Talson Shipping is running drugs. Deciding on the spot to go undercover, he hopes to discover what's going on.
Tara has always been drawn to healing and that's the reason she can't leave her rundown home. Since Talson Shipping has started running drugs the neighborhood has gone down the tubes, but her gift demands she stay. But that puts her in the crosshairs of the corrupt leader of Talson and the new guy. The new guy that revs her engine as much as the other guy creeps her out. When things start to heat up, she finds out things about herself she never imagined and finds a love that will satisfy all her yearnings. If only she'll let go and believe.
This is the last in the series and ties up all the loose ends. Romec is the wild card of the bunch as he has a surfeit of gifts while his siblings all have just one. No one, not even Romy himself, knows all his capabilities. When he meets Tara he senses she's the one and with her he is able to control and manipulate his powerhouse of abilities. And she discovers things too. They amplify or temper the other to the point of perfection, truly becoming a couple in all ways. The "helpless to resist" sex was hot of course, but also had an edge of restraint since they were after all strangers. Once they trusted all bets were off. Not the absolute best of the series, but a good wrap up and a culmination of what Romy was destined to be. A good read.
