Stroke of Sapphire

Eighth in the Awakening Desires series.

Sapphire was a little immature in my opinion and Jake just enforced that perception with his behavior towards her. I realize there was an age gap and that was one of Jake’s reasons for holding back but at times it was way more obvious than others. The dark spooky edge that Jake possesses was a major turn on at times and I found him downright delicious. Add in his overwhelming libido and stamina and my eyebrows were in my hairline more than not.

Nothing frosts my cookies more than a man who makes decisions for me. It’s a good thing Jake is hot and good in bed or else he would never have been forgiven. Sapphire has lusted after Jake for so long and when she finally has a night in bed with him she’s thrilled. But he calls it quits before they even start and damages her self-esteem in the process. When he starts popping up while she’s on dates she begins to wonder what’s going on but is relieved when her latest suitor turns out to be a psycho. I went back and forth while reading this between sighs of envy and gasps of outrage. That means it was a good read, in case you’re wondering.

Book Blurb for Stroke of Sapphire

When Sapphire Jewel turns to him on the final evening he’s assigned to protect her, ex-Army Ranger and security expert Jake Knight sweeps her into bed. His personality and his profession have shaped him into a man who needs to be in control of all aspects of his life, especially in the bedroom. He’s not into the whole dominant/submission BDSM thing, but he does need to be the dominant force when it comes to physical relationships. Fearing his sexual demands are too much for Sapphire to handle, Jake does the only thing he can to protect her—he leaves her.

Sapphire is in love with her bodyguard. One night of intense, passionate sex has him running for the door and she doesn’t know why. When Jake unexpectedly shows up in her life again, she must decide if she can live with the sexual demands he’ll make of her. But most of all, she must decide if she can once again risk her heart.
