It’s been five years since the monster who beat and raped her was put in jail.  Bethany, with the help of father figure Jacob, has healed and made a life for herself.  Ready to start exploring her sexuality she looks to two men.  Derrick, the son of Jacob, and Derrick’s best friend Nathan.  They are good men, trustworthy, and if the looks they’ve been giving her for years, as well as the innuendos and flirtations, are any indication they are interested in her as well.  But which one should she choose?

Derrick and Nathan have shared everything since college.  Closer than brothers, it only seems natural they would both fall for the same woman.  They’ve always shared and Bethany should be no different.  But she is different.  Before it was just sex; now their hearts are involved.  Will their respective possessiveness and unwillingness to share Bethany like the others destroy their friendship?

After Bethany’s rapist is released from prison and starts stalking her again, all other issues take a back seat as the men strive to protect her.  But instead of taking the heat off their budding relationships, it instead turns the heat up.

This was a read that sucked me in from the first page and when I looked up, I realized a lot of time had passed.  It flowed effortlessly and kept me on my toes and interested.  If it wasn’t an erotic interlude between Bethany and one of her men, it was all three of them or some unexpected attack by her stalker.  The shifting paradigm of Derrick and Nathan’s friendship was more realistic than what you usually find in a story about a ménage relationship.  Bethany’s struggles with her baggage from her childhood and eventual confrontation that put her abuser in jail made the story sad as well as entertaining.  A read not to be missed.

Book Blurb for Shutter

Magazine photographer Bethany thought the nightmare of her past was over, that she could finally move on without fear. She thought wrong. Thank goodness she won’t have to face it alone. She has Nathan and Derrick to help her. But Bethany wants a little more than just their help.

Derrick and Nathan are used to sharing women, but never a woman they both have feelings for. While they struggle to get past the jealousy and tension of their joint seduction, they have a bigger, more important battle—against the monster determined to claim her for himself.
