Ringo's Ride

Book 3 in the High Plains Shifters series but can be read as a stand-alone story.

Mating is determined by magic. Rayne dreams and hopes her destined mate will be Ringo, and that he will guide her through her change into a lycan. When the magic strikes at a celebration she is thrilled and elated. But while Ringo’s physical reaction is all she could have hoped for, he makes it very clear he doesn’t want a mate and is emotionally withdrawn. Ringo may think he has a choice, but Rayne is going to make sure he makes the right one; her.

Ringo has always felt like a dark cloud follows him. His dad was a traitor to the pack and he is convinced he carries tainted blood as a result. He’s too dirty and rough for a pampered princess like Rayne. But now that he has a license to pursue her, even a duty, he’s fighting more than himself. He’s fighting a rogue pack of were’s who want to steal what is his. That’s just not going to happen, no matter what he has to do to prevent it. Even if it means convincing everyone he is as bad as he’s always thought he was.

Set in a community totally inhabited by were’s just trying to live normal lives, this was an entertaining read. While were’s are part animal, they are also human and have the laws and regulations in place to police themselves. When rogues start stealing unmated females, the town is in an uproar. In the midst of all the chaos, Ringo also has to deal with the reality that he is mated to the woman he has always wanted but convinced himself he could never have. The journey for Ringo was emotional and deep, and while Rayne sometimes acted a little immature, her heart was in the right place. Hot and steamy sometimes, with uncontrollable mating lust the catalyst for most of Ringo and Rayne’s encounters, I had a hard time putting this one down.

Book Blurb for Ringo's Ride

Series: High Plains Shifters
Book Length: Short Novel

Rayne dreamed of the day Ringo would claim her as his mate, changing her into the lycan she is meant to be. One touch from his hands burns her with a flame hot enough to scorch the Texas plains. But the moody lycan has made it clear he doesn’t want her. That’s just too damn bad! The sexy Latino lycan belongs to her and she aims to claim him, no matter what it takes.

Ringo hides the pain of his tortured past behind a menacing sneer. Learning that Rayne is meant to be his mate is unwelcome news. She deserves better than to be saddled with a man with his checkered past. It isn’t until she is taken from him that he knows she is the only woman who can heal his battered soul.
