Poster Boy for Average

I absolutely adored this down to earth, no-gimmicks-required romance. No vampires, shifters or magic (just the kind Aubrey and Mike themselves make). Mike was a sweetheart and I too would have snatched him right up. He had a failed marriage behind him, but stress put the nails in that coffin. His son's illness, while for some might seem off-putting, just let Aubrey's compassion and true goodness shine through. I liked that. Would the stress affect her and Mike's fledgling relationship? Probably but she goes in eyes wide open and with Mike's misgivings duly noted.

The story really focuses on the chemistry between Mike and Aubrey and even though circumstances aren't ideal, they can't seem to deny their attraction. But it's not just sex - there is a deep connection that goes to the center of them both, and I really enjoyed that Mike went all out to show Aubrey how he felt for her after doing his best to warn her away. Yep! He's a keeper. This was a really heartwarming romance with some pretty steamy moments. The "ex" provided for some interesting moments as well. I would have really appreciated an epilogue, but was left satisfied with how things ended up for Mike and Aubrey.

Book Blurb for Poster Boy for Average

Indie photographer and book cover artist Aubrey Singleton is living up to her last name. A long summer at the lake has cured her of her recent breakup, and she’s embracing life as a single woman. What she’s not prepared for is to come back home to find she has a handsome new single neighbor.

Mike Sykes is a roofer—though he’s afraid of heights—a father of two and recently divorced. Oh and one might classify him as smoking hot.

The photographer in Aubrey is smitten, the single woman in her is breathless. She’s ready to make Mike a star—on book covers and, though she’s wary of a broken heart, in her life. He’s not so sure. Mike sees himself as a life complication due to his younger son’s illness, and not hot by a long shot. In fact, he thinks he’s the poster boy for average.

But a “business” trip to Key West, rife with hunky models, sets a backdrop for a shot at true love…
