New Species Book 10

Moon is book 10 in the Species Series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series, as well as Moon’s story, but I’m finding it harder to get excited about this world. Moon wasn’t what I would call an Alpha male, even though he was presented as one. I have to say I liked him more feral than lucid. He was kind of a whiner when he was lucid, and his actions were reminiscent of a teenage girl having a hissy. Joy seemed the stronger of the two, and was actually Moon’s savior when it all boiled down.

Joy has regretted her decision to leave Moon at Site Four when Species were first found. She was sure any relationship would be viewed as predatory and that Moon would put himself in danger to protect her. And she’s right. But when she’s called upon to help Moon after he was shot with a mind-altering drug, she went to his side immediately. She becomes his lifeline and link with sanity. And she’ll do anything to save him.

The most interesting character in the book to me was Kregkor, the idiot government psychiatrist. The main conflict in the story, Joy leaving Moon in favor of her ethics, was beat to death and frankly got a little ragged. Of course I will want to read any other books by this author in this world, as they are good solid reads. They just aren’t up to par with the first books in the series, at least in my opinion.

Book Blurb for Moon

Dr. Joyce Yards has never met anyone as sexy or as irresistible as 466. He refuses to discuss anything except getting her naked beneath him. Their therapy sessions are growing hotter, his raw hunger for her is becoming aggressive, and she is falling for him. Joy knows the dire consequences if she gives in to desire. It will break her heart but she must walk away.

Moon has been drugged. He is feral and dangerous to everyone. The NSO doctors turn to the only female Moon ever cared about—the one who left him in the desert two years ago.

Moon isn’t the same male Joy once knew but she is willing to put her life on the line for him. There are no rules now. If sex tames the wild beast and triggers his fractured memories, allowing him moments of lucidity, then Joy will give him her body and her soul. She’ll do whatever it takes to save him.
