Lick

Stage Dive Novel, #1

Hilarious is not what I anticipate when I sit down to read an erotic romance. This book elicited three belly laughs out of me before page 20 and the whole book was interspersed with moments of levity that I truly enjoyed. It was a big plus when you consider all that was going on that wasn't funny such as the lack of trust, fear of rejection and just plain confusion that was the engine that drove this powerful beginning to a new series.

I liked David. A lot. And I know he isn't real because no real man would be that awesome. Yes he had his asshole moments, but he was a rock God, for crying out loud. That would make someone a little arrogant, don't you think? But he connected with Ev because she was meant to be his, not because she was his polar opposite and had the amazing ability to center and focus him in the world gone wild that is LA. Ev was your everyday girl, nothing special and just trudging along in her average life. She had a little drama but it was mostly self-induced. Her life went down the rabbit hole when she woke up in that hotel room with David and that was the catalyst that helped birth the adult version of Ev. Oh, I wanted to strangle her a time or two but all in all totally identified with her bewilderment and WTF amazement of the world she was unceremoniously dumped in.

This was a wild ride that was well-written, had a steady rhythm and dropped some teasers for future books. While Ev and David are married, they don't actually become physically intimate until well into the book. I liked that. I'll be more than ready for the next Stage Dive band member to meet his soul mate.

Book Blurb for Lick

Waking up in Vegas was never meant to be like this.

Evelyn Thomas's plans for celebrating her twenty-first birthday in Las Vegas were big. Huge. But she sure never meant to wake up on the bathroom floor with a hangover to rival the black plague, a very attractive half-naked tattooed man in her room, and a diamond on her finger large enough to scare King Kong. Now if she could just remember how it all happened.

In Kyle Scott's Lick, one thing is certain: being married to one of the hottest rock stars on the planet is sure to be a wild ride.
