Kiss of Moonlight

Having retreated to a forgotten farm that was an inheritance, Tamra McMillan is trying to recover from a horrible rape and beating.  A victim, but she put her attacker in a coma.  Healing in the solitude, she finds herself being visited by two dogs.  A puppy and a much larger animal.  She uses them to talk to and express her repressed feelings.  Unknown to her, the dogs understand her.  See, they are not dogs.  They are her neighbors who are also shape shifters.  Kyle Rossini and his daughter Cat take immediately to the wounded woman and in their human forms befriend her.  While Cat is a ray of sunshine, Kyle has more than a hint of darkness about him.  But that doesn’t scare Tamra.  If anything he makes her feel safe.  And much more.

Kyle is an assassin for his king.  He keeps to himself so as not to endanger anyone he cares about.  When his daughter is spending a few weeks with him over the summer, she discovers their neighbor and takes an instant liking to her.  Kyle takes an instant liking as well, although his is more carnal.  When Tamra’s house is broken into and it appears someone is trying to kidnap her, it puts all of Kyle’s possessive instincts on alert.  While he may not have known her for long, she’s his and he intends to keep her.  No matter what he has to do or who he has to kill.

This is the first story in a new series and I’m hooked.  Kyle was a many-faceted character that charmed me instantly.  His love for his daughter one of his most endearing qualities, his deadly side was attractive as well.  His lifelong denial of settling down went out the window when he met Tamra, and that was so romantic.  Tamra, while wounded to the soul, was no shrinking violet.  While heroines often make stupid mistakes, she used her head.  And even though some of her decisions didn’t please Kyle, he understood her thinking.  A wonderful romance with lots of hot interludes, I anxiously await more stories in this series.

Book Blurb for Kiss of Moonlight

Plagued by nightmares. Stalked by kidnappers. Tamra McMillan needs a safe haven. When tattooed bad-ass Kyle Rossini steps into her life, the last thing she expects to find is a sanctuary from her demons or steaming hot sex. In fact, everything about him screams danger. But appearances can be deceiving. The tender possessiveness of his touch, the hunger in his eyes, the scorching sensuality of his kiss-all of it sears him into her soul and brands her as his for life.

But otherworldly forces are afoot and death hovers.

Etruscan werewolf Kyle is a loner. The king's assassin with a killer's instincts. The last thing he needs is a mate who could be placed in danger because of him. Until he meets the one woman who needs him more than he needs his solitude. When Tamra, battered but not broken, stumbles into his world and tumbles into his bed, she captures his heart. And nothing-not kidnappers or visions of his possible death-will keep him from her.
