Ivoth

Dragons of Preor, #7

The heart wants but the Knowing is getting in the way. Elle and Ivoth have been attracted since they first met, and it’s getting worse. Both are frustrated the Knowing isn’t manifesting, so what is left?

Ivoth can feel Elle’s most extreme emotions, and responds at a primal level. But his vow to his sire to continue the line prevents him from making a commitment without the Knowing. And what a frustration that is, as he fights his own overpowering attraction as well as that of his dragon. This goes on for the majority of the book and it was a tad frustrating for me at times and got a bit repetitive.

Her family has emotionally battered Elle and she just isn’t up to the pain that loving Ivoth without the Knowing will cause. But she’s willing to do it anyway. The pain comes when he is not. The author did a good job illustrating the wounds that a couple that love but can’t be together due to a combination of self-imposed and biological restraints can inflict. But as this is a love story, rest assured the author comes up with a workaround that makes more books promising, and a freshening of the story line.

Both Ivoth and Elle appealed, the villain was truly a waste of skin, and the addition of Elle’s companion Charlie added an interesting perspective.

Book Blurb for Ivoth

He has to choose—love or honor—because he can’t have both.

Elle may be a Davenport, but she’s finding she enjoys life as a mostly-gray sheep of the Davenport family. She kicked off the Daven Bio uniform and now works for their corporate enemy—Cole Pharma, now headquartered in Preor Tower. She’s got massive, muscular, winged aliens surrounding her from sun up to sun down. But there’s only one Preor warrior who throws her world into a tailspin—Ivoth sen Pezet’li. Strong. Sexy. Sinfully seductive. Hers? No. They don’t share the Knowing, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting him. Bad.

Ivoth made a vow to his sire—the sen Pezet line would not end with him. And yet, when he speaks with Elle, scents her skin, and feels her curves against his hard body, he does not know if he can let her go. He craves her more than any other—perhaps even more than he desires to fulfill his vow—and he knows he must make a choice. Keep Elle and never have dragonlets or leave her and lose his heart forever.

Ivoth has to make a choice, but first, he has to keep Elle alive. Someone wants her dead and Ivoth is determined to kill them first. He only prays to Syh he is successful.
